Jubilee celebrations at Rockdale
Jubilee celebrations continue at Rockdale. Today we have enjoyed two parties, one at Rockdale House Care Home and another for our Supported Independent Living Residents with singing entertainment at both provided by Jenny Sinclair, a Care Home Entertainer and Singer.
Our eldest resident, aged 101, at Rockdale House Care Home planted a Plum tree for the Jubilee, in keeping with the Queen’s Jubilee colour scheme and made a lovely speech during the planting:
“It gives me great honour as the oldest resident of Rockdale to plant this tree for the Queen’s Jubilee”.
We have a large Crown in the centre of our site with sweet peas making their way around it. Residents have added to our decorations with their memories of the Queen’s 70 years of service to the people of the United Kingdom, the Realms and the Commonwealth. It’s been a wonderful celebration.
